Our Beginning
Kerusso Grace was born out of a prophetic call to preach the gospel where Christ has not been named.
On October 17, 2010, Sergio Garcia, his family, and a small group of believers began meeting in their home with a shared vision: to plant a gospel-centered church in Houston’s inner city. Their prayer was to see lives transformed through the power of Jesus, and to build a church rooted in His Word, shaped by grace, and devoted to making disciples.
Our Name
The name Kerusso Grace comes from the Greek word "kerusso", which means “to proclaim.” It reflects our calling to boldly proclaim the grace of God to all people through the preaching of the gospel to witness transformed lives.

Our Neighborhood
Located in Northside Village, just north of downtown Houston, our community faces real challenges; poverty, addiction, broken families, and the hidden darkness of human trafficking. While the needs are deep, we believe Jesus is greater, and the gospel brings hope and healing to even the hardest places.
Our Response
The only answer is the cross of Jesus Christ.
In the face of sin and suffering, our response is clear:
Preach Christ. | Make Disciples. | Live on Mission.
We exist to lead people into the freedom found in Jesus, equip them to grow in gospel maturity, and send them out to bring the light of Christ into every corner of our city.
God called us to take a stand by planting a church here, and praying and believing that He will give the growth. It is our hope that Kerusso is the seed of a fruitful, gospel community that believes in the never-changing Word of God.

Expanding the vision...
In March 2025, we joyfully stepped into a new chapter as we moved into our new home at 2314 Cochran St. This building, though originally constructed in 1940 and bearing the marks of time, has quickly become a place of life, worship, and community for our congregation.
God has planted us in a strategic location; right next to Marshall Middle School and Northside High School, where we have been faithfully serving and investing in students and families for the past five years. Now, with a permanent presence in the heart of the neighborhood, we see this as a fresh opportunity to steward what God has given us, to deepen our roots, and to continue shining the light of Christ.

Where we are headed...
Where we’re headed is shaped by the same Gospel mission that has always defined us: to make disciples who make disciples. Positioned in the heart of the community, we are committed to faithfully engaging in outreach and discipleship with the people God places before us. Transformation is not the result of a formula, but the power of the Gospel at work in hearts and lives.
We envision transforming the children’s building next door into a mission center, creating a safe place for youth and their families to encounter the love of Christ and find hope in community. Beyond our neighborhood, we are praying toward the multiplication of missional communities across the city: groups of believers living out the Gospel together, serving their neighbors, and carrying God’s mission into every corner of Houston.
